Fisherman Sandals! Natural Deodorant that Works! A Standup Special About Motherhood!
My recs for April are here.
Every time I leave NYC I remember how much I love living here. And with Clementine’s spring break in March, we were gone for what felt like half the month. But now that I’m settling back in–and the weather is supposed to warm up later this week–my mind is ping ponging between cute Spring outfits, world class art, yummy food, Earth Day and natural deodorant that WORKS.
I’ll be leaving again on book tour soon enough, but before I do I want to soak up all my city has to offer.
That being said, if you have any hot tips for what to do, where to eat and where to shop in Cincinnati, Columbus, Ann Arbor, Chicago and/or Pittsburgh I’m all ears!

Trying new (to me!) restaurants. These are the spots on my date night list: Hildur and Wenwen.
The Frick is back! You don’t have to be an art world philanthropist or billionaire to enjoy the revamped Frick Collection.
Mom humor for everyone. Listen to standup Rosebud Baker talk about motherhood and check out her new special, The Mother Lode, on Netflix.
No.6 Store browsing. It’s a sweater! It’s a tank top! It’s perfect for Spring.
Mill Food Recycler. This is my Earth Day dream.
Womb House Books baseball hat. It’s just not the same if you’re not wearing the hat while you read Didion’s new book.
Time for a new pair from Sabah. My heart says bright pink, but my head says poppy red.
Liz Gilbert fans unite! If you’ve been in my classes then you've heard me gush about Liz Gilbert ‘s Big Magic. I’ll be at the Omega Institute at the end of May for her workshop. Join me!
Necessaire necessity. I’ve been told this should be my new deodorant. But which scent?
A memoir, of course. Long plane rides are for listening to the amazing Hyeseung Song.
Freda Salvador sandals. Do I need another pair of fisherman sandals this time with a lug sole?
On May 5, at 6:30pm ET, I’ll be hosting a “Write Your Mother Code Story” masterclass. I’ll kick off the session with a short reading from The Mother Code followed by a mini craft talk; a generative writing exercise and a Q&A session. This will be the night before my book is published so you’ll be getting a sneak peek before it’s out in the world. All you have to do is sign up here and submit proof that you pre-ordered my book.
