Fun Recommendations for You
Cute manicures. Jelly shoes that take me back to the 80s. And so much art.
Too Hot To Handle
I spend the whole year waiting for summer and then once it’s here it’s too damn hot to wear any of the cute outfits I’ve dreamed about wearing. All I want to do is drink cold brew and sit inside with my ever-expanding list of books I’m reading.
But instead of actually reading, I think about my new fave cinnamon “oatchata” that I drank at The Robey hotel while I was on my book tour in Chicago–and my To Be Read list gets longer and longer.
For all of you who wonder what’s top on my summer reads list it’s these books, all of which are by authors I met at the Deep Water Literary Fest in Narrowsburg, New York this week:
Susan Choi’s Trust Exercise
Andre Aciman’s Call Me By Your Name
Isle McElroy’s People Collide
Geoff Dyer’s Out of Sheer Rage
Maddie Thien’s The Book of Records.
You know what else is on my mind?
The bob seems to be the haircut of the summer and I’m thinking this should be my new look (which is basically a shorter version of my current one).
Carissa Potter’s art always makes me happy and her newest book is no different.
Zines are still a thing.
So are jelly shoes.
The cutest french mani I’ve ever seen.
I spent an embarrassing number of hours tracking down a cropped white, short-sleeved, button down shirt that I liked.

I stalked the owners of this online gallery when I was in Cincinnati and forced my way into their home to buy art.
My friend has a mural by Studio Lyric around her fireplace and I’m obsessed.
I’m always wondering if what I’m doing is worthy of my time. This is a reminder that it is.
THE notebook of all notebooks.
Brooklyn Heights is becoming the hub of hot new bakeries.
Another pair of shoes that takes me back to my tween years.
I can’t decide between the tote and the t-shirt.
